Invitational Summit 2 meeting of the Council for Healing, Menlo Park, CA
The Council for Healing is a network of individual healers and healing organizations whose mission is to promote understanding of healing and advance acceptance of healing. We have been meeting for six and a half years monthly by telephone conference and annually in person. We work together by consensus, creating a stimulating and safe forum for representatives of diverse healing modalities. Details are posted at www.ijhc.org.
Our Summit meetings have shared our discussion forum for healers from a broad spectrum of practices to come together and share our individual and collective wisdom on clinical and theoretical issues.
It was an honor to facilitate this weekend meeting, together with the rest of the Board of the Council. Participants included physicians, nurses, spiritual healers of many varieties (Therapeutic Touch, Healing Touch, Reiki, Native American, other varieties of energetic and intentional healing, Prayer healing and more), Qigong, Mandala healing, Flower essences, Networking as healing, Students (medical, Holos University graduate students), Ecology, Poetry, Humor, and more. And, BTW, many of the individual participants fit in several of the above categories.
In essence, the Council is a hub, providing a meeting place where practitioners of diverse healing modalities can come together to share the wisdom of their modality and personal practices, and learn from the sharings of those who practice in radically different ways - but often arrive with their clients in similar places.
It is inspiring to be in the presence of these people, who are able to acknowledge that none has the sole answer to questions of how to help any condition, and that helping conditions, in any case, is not the point. We are helping the people who have the conditions.
Just as importantly, we who are designated as healers are still on paths of learning and growing and healing ourselves. Our clients are often some of our best teachers!
The Council is considering ways to expand our activities.
1. We will be expanding our web sharings
2. We will be seeking a donation, grant or seed money to organize an open conference where many more people can participate in our hub activities.
If you can suggest ways to help us, we would be most grateful.
Blessings
Dr. Dan
